Our paper cold cups have recently been certified Compostable by the Australasian Bioplastics Association (ABA)! In light of International Compost Awareness Week, we wanted to make you aware of the meaning behind these logos — look out for them! The first symbol, otherwise known as the 'Seedling Logo', indicates that a product is certified industrially compostable to AS4736 (Australian Standards). This means these cups or any product with this symbol must be composted at an industrial composting facility to break down into nutrient-rich soil. The second symbol, also found on these aqueous coated cups, means that a product is certified home compostable to AS5810 and will break down in a home composting environment! Available for 4oz cups up to 16oz in our hot range and 16oz to 22oz including flat and domed lids for our cold cups, we now have a compostable lid range! Our entire range of sugarcane products from containers to lids are PFAS free - no leaks, no cardboard taste, no worries! The Castaway commitment to innovation and sustainability stretches from the big things to the details.

In line with our dedication to sustainability, we have transitioned our Clearview Bakery Containers from black to clear bases because dark plastics are more difficult to recycle. By making this change, we have made it easier for our customers and their consumers to do the right thing and contribute to a circular economy by recycling these containers in their usual kerbside bins. Our updated bakery range is still locally-made from at least 50% recycled material. We're proud to continually strive for more environmentally friendly and socially responsible products.
